corruption in the news

The New York Times is not doing its job. The article, “Chevron Offers Evidence of Bribery Scheme in Ecuador Lawsuit” offers no proof of any Ecuadorean bribery whatsoever, and fails to address the real issue: Big corporations are seeking to make money off of polluting the Amazon, through oil drilling and then through getting big government contracts to clean it up.

It makes you wonder where the worst corruption lies: In a South American government, or in the New York Times editorial board and its buddy-buddy relationship with the Chevron spin doctors.
